The Time Machine is a novel of science fiction written by Herbert George Wells and published in 1895. The book presents a vision of the future thousands of years away, civilization is heading towards destruction, and the human race has degenerated. The novel tells a story of a young scientist whose dream is to travel in time and, when it comes true, he travels into the year 802,701. The traveller gets acquainted with the new residents of the world and wonders over human evolution, which resulted in the creation of two new species: the Eloi and the Morlocks. After many adventures, he decides to go into the future again, where he finds some of the last living things on a dying Earth that resemble enormous crabs. His onward journeys in time grow more depressing - the scientist sees that the world slowly came to an end, with the extinction of the last living creatures and the cessation of the Earth's rotation, the planet became an endless void."
